Eileen Lad, Lower School Art Teacher
Mrs. Lad graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, with an emphasis in drawing and printmaking.
After teaching Middle School Art for three years, Mrs. Lad pursued an MBA from Berry College. For nine years, she worked for a technology company. There, she applied her diverse skills to a wide variety of software and programming positions: programming consultant, project manager, sales consultant, and technical writer. In her last year with the tech company, Mrs. Lad co-authored a SQL manual. Then, after nine years of being away from her first love – Art – she returned to the art classroom, which is where she feels her true talents lie.
“I have had a lifelong love of the visual arts and feel very blessed that I can share my knowledge and skills with the students of Pinecrest Academy.” She knows that in today’s world, imagination, tactile skill, and appreciation for art are more important than ever. In her classes, each of her art students stretch their imaginations, develop coordination, and find wonder in the world around them, a kaleidoscope of art. The LS Art Program focuses on the basic elements of art: color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. By grasping these foundational concepts, Mrs. Lad’s students not only learn, but have fun!
Mrs. Lad resides in Alpharetta, Georgia with her husband, Paul, and they have two children, who are currently attending college.
