His roles have included head coach, offensive coordinator, run game coordinator, offensive line coach, running backs coach, wide receivers coach, and quarterbacks coach. “I have been blessed to serve in multiple roles in many types of schools. I have had the opportunity to learn from every experience God has given. It has made me a better coach and a better leader.”

Coury’s coaching experience doesn’t end with football. He has enjoyed 18 seasons as a high school track coach for South Forsyth High School, Cherokee High School, and Pinecrest Academy. Fifteen of those seasons were spent serving as head coach.

A nationally certified strength and conditioning coach, Coury spent 13 years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at West Forsyth High School, Cherokee High School, Holy Spirit Preparatory School, and Pinecrest Academy. “Except for the Friday Night Lights, there is nothing I love more as a coach then to work side by side with my athletes preparing them for the physical demands of their sports.”

He departed Pinecrest in 2016 to pursue an opportunity with Holy Spirit Prep, serving as the head football coach and the strength and conditioning coordinator. “Holy Spirit Prep was a great blessing for my family, we built many great relationships. While leaving HSP was difficult in leaving our new friends behind, Cumming has always been home. It was important to my family to return to Forsyth, and in doing so rejoin the Pinecrest family.”
